Observations:
- Small event that has a whole lot of great potential. Very
well run event and I (and Sean agreed) think that we should make
this an annual event. The only down side to this event was
that everything was so spread out.
- Milton's did a great job to allow a few of our guys onto the
field. James Moss, Will Bateman did a great job working the
guns. As well as others on our squad.
- Major Bob did a great job of the food. Hamburgers, lasagna
and standard breakfast (scrambled, bacon or sausage, grits).
CSMC Co A presented Major Bob with a small Marine Hat pin for his
efforts with a larger crowd.
Actions:
- Action Saturday: Saturday had the unit split into two
squads, one on the right of Milton's and one on the left. The
right squad went ahead with the mobile gun to provide protection.
They moved up the right side of the field to engage the Union army. The
right squad did well, they captured a couple of companies and an
artillery piece. Very good. The left squad went down the
left side of the field and engaged the Calvary, Zouaves and the USMC.
We actually saw one of the Marines go down on a volley from us.
Very cool. We also saw a Cavalrymen slump over after a shot from
me. Roger was wounded but was able to gather himself back up and
rejoin the battle. We provided support for the Confederate Army as
the Union try to storm the lines. The lines held and the
Confederates took the day. Overall a very good day.
